Update!

Hey guys! I know, I know....It's been forever! I apologize for that. My school, job, and life have been keeping me extremely busy these past couple of months. I'm still quite busy, but I'm actually getting the chance to read a little so I wanted to try and blog some also. I've missed the blogging world, especially the bloggers and readers!
I had good time over the holidays and I hope all of you did as well. I'm an aunt of twins now! My sis-in-law had a boy and a girl. The boys name is Grayson Mitchell and the girl's is Lillianna Marie. They are about 2 months now I think. I don't get to see them very often since I live 4 hours away from them, I'm not really a big babies fan. Hah weird since I'm a chick. =P
I didn't get to read too much over my time away. I did finish a couple of books. I'm not going to give big reviews about them, but I'm going to give you my opinion on whether I liked them or not. Perfect Chemistry was the last book I posted about on here. Hmmm... let's see the next book I read was Need. I got that on my Nook Color because it's cheaper than buying the actual book. On the nook its priced at $3.59, you can click here if you would like to check it out!

Need
     Carrie Jones
--- It was much better than I thought it would be. I rated it a 4 out of 5. It had a few slow parts, but they didn't last long. I hope to read the next one soon!

The next book was Silence. The third book in the Hush, Hush series.
Silence
    Becca Fitzpatrick
--- It was really good, but no where near as good as the first and second. I feel like Patch has turned too sensitive. He doesn't seem like the Patch that I feel in love with in the first book. I was kind of disappointed after I read it. I really hope the next one is better than the last. Don't get me wrong it was still pretty good. I rated it a 4 out of 5.

I also read Ripple.
Ripple
    Mandy Hubbard
--- Ripple was good. It had a few twist that I was not expecting. The whole book was a twist compared to the books that I read lately.

Demonglass
    Rachel Hawkins
--- So far Hex Hall series has not disappointed me yet! Demonglass was AMAZING!  I rated it a 5 out of 5, but it was even better than a five! I can't wait for spellbound! It's coming out next week! YAY!

Beastly
    Alex Finn
--- This was an okay book. It wasn't awesome, but it wasn't bad either. It was a nice little twist to the Beauty and the Beast that I grew up to. I gave it a 3 our of 5

Flawless (Pretty Little Liars Series #2)
    Sara Shepard
--- This one started off a little slow, but it picked up in the middle. I liked some of the characters romance in this book. I'm not going to be specific because I don't want to spoil anything. It was a good little read. I gave it a 3 out of 5.

That's all I've read these past couple of months. At the moment I'm reading the third Pretty Little Liars. I hope to get to make another blog post soon! Love you guys! Happy Readings to All!!!

Review: Perfect Chemistry

Perfect Chemistry

Synopsis: (Back Cover)
At Fairfield High School, on the outskirts of Chicago, everyone knows that south siders and north siders aren't exactly compatible elements. So when head cheerleader Brittany Ellis and gang member Alex Fuentes are forced to be lab partners in chemistry class, the results are bound to be explosive. But neither teen is prepared for the most surprising chemical reaction of all-love. Can they break through the stereotypes and misconceptions that threaten to keep them apart?

My Thoughts:
....So WOW! This book was amazing! I heard so many good reviews about it, I was afraid it wouldn't hold up the expectations of them. But WOW it did. The way the author wrote this book, was so good that you could actually feel the emotions the characters were feeling. It felt like you were the characters. The fiery passion between Brittany and Alex was spectacular. It was so hot and steamy.
My favorite part in the story in on page 150. I'm only going to give a little teaser.

......I'm totally game to making out with her.
As my brain goes through every scenario, she steps closer.
And snatches my keys out of my hand.
"What you think you're doin'?" I ask her.
"Getting you back for kidnapping me." She steps back and with all her might whips my keys into the woods.
"You did not just do that."

+Spoilers+
One part that kind of bugged me about the book was when Alex got down on his knees and Brittany says Oh. My. God. I know its not a big deal or anything. I just felt like that wasn't something the true Brittany would, only the Brittany she used as a "perfect" front. I just really loved this book. I can't even express in words how much.

I'm so ready to read Rules of Attraction next. I watched the book trailer on Simone Elkeles website. It looked really great. Makes me anticipate the book even more! If you would like to see the trailer, click HERE.

I'm still reading Pretty Little Liars #2. Hoping to get done with that soon.

Until next post...Happy Reading to All

Review: Pretty Little Liars #1

Pretty Little Liars Box Set: Books 1 to 4

Pretty Little Liars #1

Back Cover:

Everyone has something special to hide-especially high
 school juniors Spencer, Aria, Emily,
 and Hanna.

Spencer covets her sister's boyfriend. Aria's fantasizing about her English teacher. Emily's crushing on the new girl at school. Hanna uses some ugly tricks to stay beautiful. But they've all kept an even bigger secret since their friend Alison vanished.
How do I know? Because I know everything about the bad girls they were, the naughty girls they are, and all about the dirty secrets they've kept. And guess what? I'm telling.

My Opinions:

I read this book during the Read-A-Thon. I've had this book for almost a year. I even have the next three of them. I haven't gotten around to reading them yet. Like I've said in earlier post, I have a buying-books-addiction. My TBR pile is HUGE!
I was surprised that the book was actually good. I only got the chance to watch the first two episodes on TV. I decided to buy the seasons on DVD when I get the money to. I liked the episodes that I saw. I thought that maybe I wouldn't like either the show or the books. I figured it would be too soap-opera-y.
The mystery and twist keep me into it. I'm not a huge fan of every character. My favorite character to read about in the books is Aria. I don't know what it is about her, but she is the most interesting. I also like Spencer. I just feel so bad for her. Them two are my favorite. I think it's because I can relate to them so well. My least favorite is Hanna. She gets annoying sometimes. She is too much worried about her image then anything else. She is all about popularity. I like Emily too. She is one of my favorites, but its interesting to get a view point inside of homosexuality. I'm straight and I have no problems with gays. I've always kind of wondered if it was scary to be attracted to the same sex. I think Sara Shepard gives a good insight about it.

+May contain spoilers behind this+
Poor Emily really struggles with her sexuality. Her boyfriend, well now ex-boyfriend, is kind of a jerk. He is very immature. I can't stand guys that are like that. Just because he got his ego crushed doesn't mean he should glare at her at the funeral. The death of Alison really takes a tole on all the girls.
At first Alison was just missing for years, then at the end of the book they find her body. They haven't done a DNA test. They recognized it was her by the ring on her finger. I think it would be a huge twist if it turns out to be someone else. I'm not sure what happens in the series. I try not to look at people's reviews because I don't want anything spoil. I do like making assumptions about what might happen next.
I feel really sorry for Spencer. The way her parents are treating her is so wrong. I can't stand when adults play favorites, especially with their children. It's not Spencer's fault that Melissa can't keep her man happy. Melissa knows that she is the favorite of her parents and she definitely takes advantage of it. If I was Spencer, I would have went after Ian instead of Wren. I haven't decided if I think Spencer likes Wren, or she just gets that confused with liking the fact that her sister's boyfriend pays more attention to her.
I can't wait to find out with happens next.

+Who I think is A+
I think its Maya. Maya is in Alison's old room. She could have gotten hold of Alison's journal that could have kept everything in it.

I hope everyone is enjoying BlogFest. I know I am!

Happy Readings to All!

Review: Twisted (Fearless #4)

Twisted (Fearless)

This was the first book I'd decided to read for the Read-A-Thon. I just finished it a few minutes ago. I don't think I've stuck to reading like that in years. I think I'm getting to old for this. lol
Anyways...it's been years since I've read the first three books in the Fearless's series. Don't get me wrong, they aren't bad book at all. I love these books. It's just that they are hard to find these days. The our out-of-pub. I have to get them from private owners. So shipping is a kick in my ass.
Every book in the Fearless series is great so far. Every page is filled with suspense and mystery. I have to keep reading to find out what happens next. I didn't even want to take breaks today, but I did. I get awful headaches if I read too long. Even with these headaches I'm pushing through this read-a-thon.

Contains Spoilers after is point....

Unfortunately I figured out that David was the killer pretty dang early. Maybe it's because I want Sam and Gaia together. Who the hell knows? But I feel so sorry for Ed, him being in a wheel chair and all. If not really that he is in a wheel chair that makes me feel sorry him, it's the fact that he is chasing after a girl that he knows doesn't feel the same. I guess that's just humans. Going after something they love, no matter the heartbreak later. I hope she brings in a character for him. I like Ed. He is sweet and kind. A guy any girl would dream to have.
If Sam really loved Gaia, he wouldn't be sleeping with Heather. I want Sam and Gaia together, but then again I don't. I feel like he doesn't care for her enough. He is only with Heather because he feels same and she's hot. I just get the feeling that he is very shallow. I hope he changes soon, or I'm going to want another love partnerfor Gaia.

Update on Progress:
Finished Gaia: Check!
Started on second book: Right after I get off of here. I think I'm going to read the first book in the Pretty Little Liars.

Well I'm off!

Happy Reading to All!

Book Review: Vixen

Vixen (The Flappers)

Synopsis: (inside cover)
JAZZ...BOOZE...BOYS...
It's a dangerous combination.
Every girl wants what she can't have. Seventeen-year-old GLORIA CARMODY wants the flapper lifestyle--and the bobbed hair, cigarettes, and music-filled nights that go with it. Now that she's engaged to Sebastian Grey, scion of one of Chicago's most powerful families, Gloria's party days are over before they've even begun...or are they?

CLARA KNOWLES, Gloria's goody-two-shoes cousin, has arrived to make the high-society wedding comes off without a hitch--but Clara isn't as lily-white as she appears. Seems she has some dirty little secrets of her own that she'll do anything to keep hidden...

LORRAINE DYER, Gloria's social-climbing best friend, is tired of living in Gloria's shadow. When Lorraine's envy spills into desperate spite, no one is safe. And someone's going to be very sorry....

From the debut author Jillian Larkin, VIXEN is the first novel is the sexy, dangerous, and ridiculously romantic new series set in the Roaring Twenties...when anything goes.

My Thoughts:
I usually get really bored with historical fiction. I guess it's because I hate history. I mean I don't hate it with a passion, I just hate studying and memorizing it in school. Vixen was actually my first historical fiction set in the 1920s. I really enjoyed it. It consisted of 3 points of views, Gloria's, Clara's, and Lorraine's. I usually hate books that have more then one POV because they are hard to follow. Vixen on the other hand is easy to follow. Every chapter says the girl's name at the beginning of whose POV it's in. I did happen to catch one mistake in the book. It was in one of Lorraine's chapters, but the author accidently made it Clara's. It was only one sentence, so not that big of a deal. I almost read right over it. Hah. My favorite character would have to be Clara. Lorraine got on my last nerves. She was constantly whining about how Gloria didn't deserve the stuff she got. It just got annoying. Gloria wasn't as bad as Lorraine, but she got a little annoying sometimes. She was always complaining about her life too. Clara actually had a mystery to her storyline. I found it very interesting.
I would love to live in those days. To go to the speakeasies and all sounds fun. Maybe its just me? Lol but it sounds really interesting to be all sneaky. It was also very dangerous since the speakeasies are illegal. Of course, most of the cops are payed off by the mobsters.

I can't wait til the next book in the Flapper series comes out! It's called Ingenue (The Flappers). It will be released on August 9, 2011. Which is on my birthday!! YAY! Well there is one thing I know I will be doing on my birthday, going to B&N and getting this book!

If you haven't read this book, you should really check it out! I recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance with lots of twists and mysteries.

Evermore Review

Evermore: The Immortals

Synopsis:
After a horrible accident claims the live of her family, 16 year old Ever Bloom can see people's auras, hear their thoughts, and know someone's entire life story by touching them. Going out of her way  to avoid human contact and suppress her abilities, she has been branded a freak at her new high school--but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste.
Damen is gorgeous, exotic, and wealthy. He's the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head-- wielding a magic so intense, it's as though he can peer straight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she's left with more questions than answers. And she has no idea just who he really is--or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is that she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.

My Thoughts!
This book was pretty good. It's wasn't as good as everyone made it out to be, in my opinion. I like the whole "immortal" thing, which had nothing to do with vampires! Hah! It was also funny how Damon kind of made fun of the idea, that Ever thought he was one. I felt thought, the beginning was a little prolonged. Most of the juicy action parts didn't come until near the end. I hope in the next book we get to learn more about Damon's past. This book was very vague with his and Drina's past. Like why did she turn so evil? How did he fall in love with her? Just things like that. Overall, the book was good and I would recommend anyone who like a good paranormal, coming of age, and romance series!

Personal Demons Review

Do you guys remember me telling y'all I won the ARC of Personal Demons, well I just now got around to reading it and finishing it. Hah! Yay me! Next, I'm starting Evermore: The Immortals.

Synopsis: (back cover)

Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She has spent years keeping everyone at a distance--even her closest friends--and it seems as if her senior year is going to be more of the same...until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can't seem to stay away from him.
What she doesn't know is that Luc is on a mission. He's been sent from Hell itself to claim Frannie's soul. It should be easy--all he has to do is get her to sin, and Luc is as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn't stand a chance. But he has to work fast, because if the infernals are after her, the celestials can't be far behind. And sure enough, it's not long before the angel Gabriel shows up, willing to do anything to keep Luc from getting what he came for. It isn't long before they find themselves fighting for more than just Frannie's soul.
But if Luc fails, then will be Hell to pay...for all of them.

My Thoughts:

Have you ever read a book and thought, this would be so much better if it had a different author?!? Well that’s what I thought throughout this entire book. I did not like the author’s style of writing at all! It was really annoying. Of course it was her first book, so I’m cutting her some slack. It did end up getting better towards the ending.
It really pissed me off that we didn’t get any of Gabe’s POV! The author never even gave him a chance. It really wasn’t a love triangle at all. It was more of Luc and Frannie with tidbits of Gabe, here and there. Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t made up my decision about who I like the best. The readers don’t get a chance to get to know Gabe, like we do Luc. So it’s really an unfair advantage.

Firelight Review

Wow guys, I'm on a roll!! Two book reviews the day after each other! Oh Yeah!

 Firelight
Synopsis: (Inside Cover)

A Hidden Truth.
Mortal Enemies.
Doomed Love.

Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki--a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.
Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away--if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.
Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.

My Thoughts:

Wow..............I really love this book. It was so different from all the other books that I have read. I have never read a book about draki. It was purely amazing! Nowadays all you see is vampire books or werewolves. Ok people, seriously it gets old after a while! Ever since Twilight got made into a movie, all the authors seem to write are vampires! Give us a break! Please! Hah. Anyways, this book was highly different then what you see on shelves now. The author, Sophie Jordan, really wrote the romance in this book, greatly and not too overbearing. It wasn't all just some sappy love story. It actually had some action. I never saw dragons are loving creatures, until I read this book. This is really random, but I love the name "Jacinda".
Jacinda was faced with a lot of difficulties everyday. Her pride was controlling her and her mom also. Every way she turned she was being told what to do and what not to do. I felt really sorry for her. Everyone kept secrets from, even all the way to the end of the book.
Well I don't want to ruin any of it for you. I highly recommend this book though!! Can't wait to fins out what happens next.....

Happy Readings to All!!

13 Little Blue Envelopes Review

So I started 13 Little Blue Envelopes about three days ago and just finished the book. Once I turned the last page I was like that can not be it!!! I've gotta know what happens!! I just look on Maureen Johnson's website. Her website is really pretty, you should check it out. Anyways, I found out there is going to be a sequel! YAY! It comes out spring 2011. It's called The Last Little Blue Envelope.

Synopsis: (Back of the book)

Would you follow the directions?
Would you travel around the world?
Would you open the envelopes one by one?
Inside little blue envelope 1 are $1,000 and instructions to buy a plane ticket.
Inside envelope 2 are directions to specific London flat
The note in envelope 3 tells Ginny: Find a starving artist.
Because of envelope 4, Ginny and a plawright/thief/bloke-about-town called Keith go to Scotland together, with somewhat disastrous-- though utterly romantic--results. But will she ever see him again?

Everything about Ginny will change this summer, and it's all because of the 13 little blue envelopes.

My thoughts........

I actually really liked this book. I even surprised myself, with how much I liked it. I was excepting it to be a cheesy love story, but it was far from it. Don't get me wrong, there is a love story, but it isn't overbearing. I had to keep reading and turning the pages to find out what the next task was. Her Aunt Peg was really a crazy one. Hah. In my paperback of the book, it had extras. It contained an interview with the author, Maureen Johnson, and also the character, Keith Dobson. I loved Keith. He was perfect for Ginny.
All of the task her aunt sent her on, really helped Ginny opened up to her full potential. If it hadn't have been for the letters, then Ginny would have never done any of those things. Before the letters, Ginny was a quiet, shy, stay-to-herself kind of girl. The letters really helped her to get out and experience the good (sometimes bad) parts of the world.
I don't know if I would have been able to do all what Aunt Peg wanted Ginny to do. She couldn't contact any one in the U.S. That would be hard for me, not to be able to talk to my friends. I, also, don't think I would have been able to sustain myself from opening all of the envelopes at once. In the end the 13th letter got stolen from her........I wondered if she will ever get it back..? I seriously cannot wait until the 2nd book comes out! I really want to know what happens with her and Keith!!

Torment- Review

Torment (Fallen)

Synopsis: (inside cover)

 Hell on earth.
That's what it's like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.
It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts--immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline,a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.
At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects Daniel hasn't told her everything. He's hiding something--something dangerous.
What if Daniel's version of the past isn't actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?
The second novel in the addictive  Fallen series....where love never dies.

Now MY Opinion: (beware JK)

Ok....Well....First off, Torment did not meet up to my expectations!
I think it dragged out way too long in the beginning, middle, and up til like the last 60 pages. I hated the way Daniel treated her in this book. Personally, I actually am rooting for Miles right now. Daniel just pissed me off way too much in  the beginning of the book  and continued it throughout. He treated Luce like a baby. If he really wanted to protect her, he would have informed her on, at least, the major details of what was going on and what it was leading up too. It took up way too many pages leading up to that little tiny fight at the end. There was no action in this book at all. Yeah, Fallen was a little slow in the beginning, but you should expect that because its the first book in a series. But at least Fallen picked up in the middle-ish of the book. Torment just went on and on about how she wanted to know about her past and that Daniel was lying to her. We only found out very little about her past! After 300 and something pages worth of talking about it and we found out really nothing important. Besides the elderly people in the nursing home and her sister Vera! That's freakin it!! Come on! Seriously!?!? I just think that Lauren Kate could have made this 452 page book into an easily 250 page book! Of course this is just my opinion. I will still continue the series because I think its gonna be interesting to see how Daniel finds Luce in  the Announcers. Since, we have no clue what time and what place she "traveled" too.

Rate: Uhhhh... since I really liked what Miles did in the end of the book Ill rate it a C+

Shoots to Kill (Flower Shop Mysteries, #7)

Synopsis:
Eight years ago, Abby Knight babysat for a problem teen named Elizabeth. Today, Elizabeth's back, with a new name (Libby) and a whole new life (stolen) - namely, one that already belongs to Abby. Libby's even trying to steal Abby's boyfriend, Marco. But imitation really becomes the sincerest form of trouble when Abby finds herself the accused dupe in a bizarre murder plot. What I think:
I think overall it was pretty good. It wasn't my absolute favorite out of the series, but I wouldn't, mind reading it again. I just felt like Abby gave in to Marco, at the end, too easily. Yeah I understand where Marco was coming from, saying that she didn't trust his judgment either, but Abby's gut feeling has never been wrong. I think he should have taken it more seriously when she told him about Libby. I think it was really stupid how no one believed Abby in the beginning. It was so obvious that Libby was coping EVERYTHING!!! I mean come on she changed her name to Libby, she cut her hair the same as Abby, she showed up at Abby's family dinner, and she freakin' dyed her hair like Abby!! Hello people!?! LOL! One thing I absolutely loved about the book was the sexual frustration between Marco and Abby. It was so funny. I wish we could have gotten a little bit of Marco's POV. That would have been pretty sweet. I feel like the writer doesn't give us enough into their relationship. Like once it starts getting to the good part with them, the damn book ends! I'm like you got to be freakin' kidding me.
Shoots to Kill (Flower Shop Mysteries, No. 7)
What I'm reading next:
The Vampire Diaries: The Return: Nightfall    AHH I can't wait!! I've been waiting forever for my friend to give this back to me!!!
